On the cover you can see Hazel on her horse, Jason with his sword, and Frank with his bow and arrow.
Here are my predictions for the Blood of Olympus.
First, I’m going to start out by unraveling the prophecy.
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call
This obviously refers to Hazel, Frank, Piper, Percy, Jason, Leo and Annabeth.
To storm or fire the world must fall
As Piper suggested, this most likely means Jason or Leo. As for “the world,” that would be Gaea, who is literally the Earth. Whether or not one of the two (storm or fire) will die is unclear, but right now that’s what Piper seems to think.
An oath to keep with a final breath
There were several options for this one.
Annabeth- I don’t remember her oath, but I think it was to protect Percy
Jason- Again, don’t remember. I just remember Piper getting all upset about it.
Nico- This one is invalid, seeing as he fulfilled his promise without dying.
However, everyone in this darn series has made some sort of promise somewhere down the line, so I’m not sure which one will be the final one.
Leo’s promise to Calypso? He did swear on the River Styx. Yeah. It’s not looking great for Leo. Sorry.
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death
This could mean Gaea’s army holding power over the Doors, or it could refer to the Greeks and Romans fighting together to close the Doors. I’m not sure. Either one is valid and interesting.
Next, I want to go over what I think might happen for each character.
Percy- I find it highly unlikely that Percy would die. He was the hero of the original books (don’t get technical with me—I didn't say prophecy, did I?), and so he probably won’t meet his end in this series. Plus, I don’t think Riordan would be cruel enough to mercilessly kill Percabeth. I also don’t think that Percy is the “storm” of the new prophecy. Personally, I don’t like Jason, but Percy had his spotlight already. Time to give someone new a chance.
Anabeth- As I said earlier, I don’t think either one of the Percabeth duo will die. Keep in mind that this is a book that is considered a kids’ book. However, the Heroes of Olympus is of a darker tone than the original series. Still, I don’t think Annabeth is going anywhere anytime soon.
Nico: Here’s a character I’m worried for. Nico isn’t one of the seven and he doesn't have any significant other (Percy is his love interest, not his significant other). There’s no real chance of him ending up with Percy, and we've all got to accept that his death is a real possibility. Also, children of Hades/Pluto rarely get happy endings, and I’m thinking Hazel is going to be the one who does.
Now, Nico may surprise us all by getting out alive, but I’m really not sure at this point. There seem to be two main options for his character:
a.) Confide his secret in his friends and finally be at peace. He will stay at CHB and everything will be roses and sunshine. There may also be a boyfriend in this option somewhere, but I honestly don’t know.
b.) Nico may take a mortal wound for Percy, confess everything (Éponine style, only without “A Little Fall of Rain”) as he is dying, die and be considered a hero.

Maybe it’s just me, but I really don’t fancy Option-Éponine. I feel like that would be a weak way for Nico to go. Oh—and after all he’s been through, I think he deserves a happy ending.
Hazel: She and Frank will live happily ever after. It’s pretty obvious, I think.
Frank: See above. Although this guy has a piece of firewood controlling his destiny. He may be in for some trouble.
Jason: I’m not sure. He’ll be okay, but I don’t know how I feel about that.
Piper: I think she too will be okay.
Leo: Again, here’s a character in some real danger. He hasn't got a girlfriend, and he’s made a promise to go back for Calypso. Right now, unless Mr. Riordan does another one of his famous the plot isn’t what you originally thought stunts, then I think Leo’s in some real danger. An oath to keep with a final breath. But that could always be Coach Hedge.
Back to my concerns for Nico di Angelo. All I can say is: this guy really deserves that happy ending I mentioned he wouldn't get. He’s lost his mother, his memory, his sister, and now he’s even lost hope—hope that he could ever be with Percy. He’s been forced to confess things he didn't want anyone to know and he’s been getting trouble on this here Internet for it… I wonder if demigods go on the Internet or if that’s just us mortals. Anyways, Nico’s been getting quite a lot of Internet trouble (the kind that doesn't mean his computer is malfunctioning), and I’m kind of upset about that. I really want this kid to get a happy ending, and it really doesn't look like it’s happening. Oh well.
I really think that this will be a great book but I don't want the story to end. Tell me what you think in comments!
